| Catalog Number UA0001 The "FULTON" Collection - Maurice G. Fulton - 1877-1955 After Maurice Fulton moved to Roswell, New Mexico in 1922 and became a professor at the New Mexico Military Insitute, his interest in the history of New Mexico grew from a hobby to a borderline obsession. He concentrated much of his archival efforts on southeastern New Mexico, primarily the Pecos Valley and Lincoln County. Fulton traveled extensively throughout southern New Mexico and Arizona obtaining oral history interviews, documents and letters as well as photographing areas of historical interest. This collection, containing personal interviews with the actual survivors and participants of the Lincoln County War along with photographs, newspaper articles and rare maps, is considered by many as the primary source of information for researchers and students of the Lincoln County War, Billy the Kid and New Mexicana.
